Course Overview

Introduction to Rehabilitation Nursing          8 hour course

This course covers a general overview for nurses new to the acute rehabilitation.  It provides a comprehensive overview of rehabilitation nursing concepts and clinical skills.

CRRN Review Course                                       2 day course

This course will prepare rehabilitation nurses for the CRRN exam.  It provides in-depth coverage of topics critical to the practice of rehabilitation nursing, as well as rehabilitation theories and nursing models, current legislative, economic, ethical, and legal issues.  Nurses new to rehabilitation nursing can also take the course to become more knowledgeable about the principles of rehabilitation and the nursing care that rehabilitation patients require.

Stroke Rehabilitation for Nurses                    8 hour course

The purpose of this course is to present current statistics, anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment options for acute stroke with a focus on rehabilitation.

Spinal Injury Course                                         4 hour course

The purpose of this course is to present current statistics, anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment options for spinal cord injury with a focus on rehabilitation.

Brain Injury Course                                          4 hour course

The purpose of this course is to present current statistics, anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment options for Acquired Brain Injury with a focus on rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation Neuro Course                          8 hour course

The purpose of this course is to present current statistics, anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment options for Multiple Scoliosis, Parkinson's Disease, Guillian-Barre Syndrome, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Muscular Dystrophy (MD) with a focus on rehabilitation.

Sexuality Issues for the Rahabilitation Patient                         4 and 8 hour courses

The purpose of this course is to present anatomy, pathophysiology, theories of sexuality, and how various diseases, injuries and disorders have a tremendous effect on sexual function.  Nurses and therapists will learn the best approaches and interventions for the rehabilitation patient.

Geriatric Nursing Course                      4 hour course

The purpose of htis course is to present current statistics, theories of aging, how the aging process can impact each body system, and special concerns needed to care for a person as they age with a disability.

Delirium Class                                       2 hour class

The purpose of this class is to teach nurses and therapists to recognize delirium and provide knowledge on appropriate and safe care for the patient with delirium.  This class also includes special focus for family and caregiver education.
